Originally built by the Ford and Melvill families, who share a deep appreciation for Eastern Cape heritage and the great outdoors, this camp was initially intended as a private retreat for family and friends. However, due to the growing interest from others, we’ve decided to open this special place to all.
Named Ford Outpost to honor our family heritage as 1820 settlers, the camp is nestled on a private farm next to one of the Eastern Cape’s exclusive big five game reserves, just a stone’s throw from Kenton-on-Sea. Our vision was to create a bush camp that captures the charm of yesteryears, offering a rustic African experience while ensuring your comfort with thoughtful amenities. The Melvill and Moon furniture, reflecting the style of the 1800s, perfectly complements our camp’s history.
We can’t wait to welcome you and promise you’ll enjoy one of your most memorable and unique adventures in the Eastern Cape bush.
